15 bud på årets bedste udgivelser, del II / III

Her følger anden del af denne lille serie:

Bodies of Water, David Metcalf:

It's kind of tough to put a list like this together, because I feel like I haven't really given a good listen to very many records that came out just this year. I guess I would maybe say:

1. Battles - Mirrored
2. Tommy Santee Klaus - Dog is Dead
3. Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
4. Caribou - Andorra
5. No Little Kindness - Rejoice
6. Karl Blau - Dance Positive
7. Chromatics - In the City (I guess this isn't an album)

This is all I can think of right now. I'm probably leaving some really good stuff off of here.

The Deadly Syndrome, Jesse Hoy:

(Også Jesse Hoy fra Deadly Syndrome har valgt at lave en lidt alternativ liste. (Tsk tsk) Her med hans yndlingsfilm fra 2007. red.)

Favorite Movies of 2007:
I know this isn't quite what you asked for, but fun just the same!
1. No Country for old Men
2. Hot Fuzz
3. The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford
4. There will be Blood
5. Ratatouille

The westerns were great this year, I haven't seen them all yeat, but the ones I did see were some of the best movies I saw this year. Also murder was dealt with amazingly this year. The top four movies I enjoyed all brought a lot of blood to the silver screen....Wow, I sound really creepy. Anyway these were all well told stories.

Efterklang:

1. Panda Bear - Person Pitch
2. Tenniscoats - Tan Tan Therapy
3. Dirty Projectors - Rise Above
4. Collen - Les Ondes Silencieuses
5. Slaraffenland - Private Cinema
6. Akron/Family - Love is Simple
7. Deerhunter - Cryptograms
8. Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
9. The National - Boxer
10. Kevin Drew - Spirit If...
11. Amiina - Kurr
12. Ólöf Arnald - Vid og Vid
13. Tenniscoats - Totemo Aimasho
14. Kirsten Ketsjer the Rock Band - FFFFOO K TSSCCH
15. Múm - Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy
16. Radiohead - In Rainbows
17. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
18. Beirut - The Flying Club Cup
19. Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
20. Blood Music - Don Quite

Figurines:

Jeg tror, vi alle i bandet er rimelige enige om, at disse plader har været blandt de bedste:

1. Band of Horses - Cease to Begin
2. Cold War Kids - Robbers & Cowards
3. I Am Bones - The Greater Good
4. The Cribs - Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever...
5. Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

HEALTH, John Famiglietti:

Here is my list...Hope it doesn't sound too dry...

1. Various Artists - "After Dark"
Italians Do It Better dominated our 2006 and 2007, the best thing about this year is that indie music news circles have finally caught on to the best thing going. Every song on here is a jewel....a Johnny Jewel.

2. Chromatics - "Night Drive"
A fictional soundtrack to a giallo movie that was never made. The Kate Bush cover is incredible.

3. Videohippos - "Unbeast The Leash"
One of our favorite bands right now, Videohippos make very music that manages to sound upbeat, childish, and very sad at the same time. Its really something special.

4. Glass Candy - "B/E/A/T/B/O/X"
Mostly overlooked by most review sites, the latest Glass Candy CDR is mostly new recordings of old songs, but everything is FASTER. Beatific, Candy Castle, and the new Life After Sundown are IT.

5. Dirty Projectors - "Rise Above"
Interesting and complex rock music inspired by a ton of different musical styles, built around a ridiculous concept. HOWEVER, it is GREAT, and is never bogged down by its lofty-ness, no beard scratching required.

6. Panda Bear - "Person Pitch"
A one of a kind album that will be remembered as one of the greatest albums of the '00s.

7. Various Artists- "Kitsune Maison Compilation vol. 4"
A lot of great tunes, as well as ones yr gonna hit the skip button on. But its all FUN. The darkest Crystal Castles song ever, and some of the the happiest songs you've ever heard.

8. Dan Deacon - "Spiderman of the Rings"
The greatest one man band in history, the Deac must be seen live. However is music is ace too!! The Crystal Cat and Wham City are simply great pieces of music.

9. M.I.A. - "Kala"
Despite some guest stars that will make you want to crawl in a box and cringe yrself to death, the rest of this album is AWESOME. Crazy ass beatz.

10. Pre- Epic Fits
London crazy ass spazz outfit makes it crazy and stuff. Scenes from a 1963 Los Angeles Love-In is the highlight.
