Love is All, Josephine Olausson:

I'm just going to mention my favourite two records of 2007:

1. Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
2. Liars – Liars

Mimas, Snævar Njáll Albertsson:

1. Do Make Say Think: 'You, You're a History in Rust'.

3. Deerhoof - "Friend Opportunity"

1. Digitalism - Idealism
2. The Good, The Bad & the Queen - The Good The Bad & The Queen
3. Bat for Lashes - Fur and Gold
4. Burial – Untrue

Parts & Labor, B.J. Warshaw:

Favorite stuff (no particular order):

1. Of Montreal - "Hissing Fauna Are You The Destroyer"
I haven't had an album on such incessant repeat in the tour van since 50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Trying".

2. Best Fwends - "Alphabetically Arranged"
Have loved these guys since I first saw them bounce around my friends storefront apartment house show in like 2003 or 04. The funnest of the funcore.

3. Gowns - "Red State"
I'm biased, because this came out on my label, Cardboard Records. But I defy anyone to find a more obliteratingly cinematic record from this year.

3. The Mae Shi - "HLLLYH"
Fellas totally stepped it up with a new lineup, four-part harmonies, biblical pop conceits, and a somewhat confounding ~20 min house jam centerpiece.

4. Panda Bear - "Person Pitch"
I actually rarely make it through the whole thing, but those first couple of songs blew me away.

5. Boredoms - "Super Roots 9"
Not their best, and I'm not sold on the choir, but they're still the best psyche/dance/future band on the fucking planet.

6. Battles - "Mirrored"
Again, biased because they're bros, but kudos to them for making good on the promise of making some very human music out of some very rigid technology and structures.

7. Big A Little A - "gAame"
Long-awaited, beautifully packaged, killer videos, finally a full length from one of my favorite Brooklyn party bands.

8. Marnie Stern - "In Advance Of The Broken Arm"
I can give or take Zach's drumming. What I love about this record is how Marnie develops precious and personal melodies amidst all the shredding.

9. Pterodactyl - s/t
I don't know which song I like better, the coming-down-the-mountain "Polio" or the trotting-through-the-wilderness "Esses", but with them as bookends these dudes, good friends and labelmates, put out the most exciting punk record I heard all year.

Yeasayer:

1. Dirty Projectors- Rise Above
2. Dragons of Zynth- Coronation Theives
3. Celebration- The Modern Tribe
4. Jay Z- American Gangster
5. Animal Collective- Strawberry Jam
6. Spank Rock - Bangers and Cash
7. M.I.A.- Kala
8. Ghostface Killah- The Big Doe Rehab
9. Panda Bear- Person Pitch
10. Björk- Volta

The end!
